Reflection on five Post

Blogging this semseter was sooo fun and educational.I defintley won't stop here...But continue throughout my life. Introduced to me by my English professor, Drew, has been a door shown to me for other opportunity and hobby.Just like my love for the piano,performing in concerts and recitals is a stronger love for it. To create more and even better posts.Five post I have created ,which were meaningful are:

1.Remind Me -->http://dorilas06.blogspot.com/2006/09/re-mind-me-driven-by-inexplicable.html
It not only the first Blitz ever written but it reminds me of why I'm here in life. Although I've been through alot in my life as an eighteen year old... I feel that I have learned so much and have begin to know my purpose in life.As I re-read this post, I feel so much more in depth of writing than before.

2.A Vocab Story--> http://dorilas06.blogspot.com/2006/09/vocabulary-story.html
What triggered me to write this was not only that we were required to have a new word posted but this assignment reminded so much of highschool. So , I thought,I'l write a story using the new vocab. The story it self is O.K but it reminds me so much of hat I go through with my brother.He only manages to get himself out of trouble,no matter if he's hanging off the cliff.As I re-read this post... I just started laughing.There were no words.!

3.A Birtdhday Gift for Me-->http://dorilas06.blogspot.com/2006/10/birthday-gift-for-me.html
I was in Highschool when I first wrote this poem. I doesn't reflect me,but after having a class discussion about adoption VS. abortion. I think that is one of the worst murders that a person can commit.No matter if it was or was n't the mother desicion to have sex ,their still taking a life away,being punished for something they did not do.As I re-read A Birthday gift for Me, it brings me back to reality that many people still don't care despite all the facts and advertisement in the world.

4.A Young Hero -->http://dorilas06.blogspot.com/2006/11/young-hero.html
Surprised by the news, I was amazed how a child saved his family off of I-95.Hey, we still have young heros among us in society and they deserve to be awarded for their bravery and fast instinct.As I re-read this post, It still amazes me how this event could have turned into a tradegy.

5.Baby Alex--->http://dorilas06.blogspot.com/2006/11/baby-alex.html
Although I have 4 brothers,the younger one has brought even more inspiration in the family.My first oldest Brother is 17,while the others are 16,15 and 3. Yes, and this major gap in age difference has be very benifitual for Alex.He gets all of the attention in the house and and better believe that he's spoiled.As I re-read this post,It just reminds me of Blessing God has given our family and how mush closer he has brought us.

If I was to have a 6th reflective blog I would have this one. It gave me the opportunity to express and relfect,which I do all the time.

'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.

And Mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

gave the lustre of midday to objects below,

when, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,

and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

"Now Dasher! Now Dancer!

Now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid!

On, Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch!

To the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away!

Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky

so up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

with the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head and was turning around,

down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head

soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

"Everything that can be invented has been invented." - Charles Duell,

Lets face it!Man's way of life has depended on technology since the begin of civilization - the flint stone, the control of fire, the wheel, the printing press. Modern technology tends to be thought of in terms of the advances brought about by computers and electronic communications but it is in transport, medicine, energy and weaponry that we have seen the greatest impact upon our lives.It these issue we come to compare First world to the third world country.We have to wake up to the fact that it is technologists that is determining the future of the human race!

New Current Event

Well ,its over and confirmed that my final topic of my current vent is multiple Personality Disorder and its affects in society.I know many of you aren't surprised but I thought the Technology topic was to broad.I consider MPD mysterious but understand that many murder cases that have happened is because of a pain in early life resulting of multiple personalites.A person may dissociate the memory from that fear and pain that experience and do what they can to prevent and change.

Thanksgivings Coming Up

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving next week. I finally get to sit down with my family and enjoy myself. this is the first time in 2 years we are actually having a Thanksgiving again. Thanks Giving is a time to share,laugh, understand and grow together with loved ones. It's also a time to be thankful, which I realize everyday!

An Unexpected Question

I remember when I was young,I used to act up in elementary school and kick those I didn't like, spit on people that looked at me weird and pinched people I thought were nice, basically if I liked them. Little did I know that the boy I pinched that often sat next to me, with his brown eyes and red skin would later in life ask me to marry him. We've been friends ever since we were young.I can talk to him about anything and we know each other like peanut butter and jelly.But we have or whole lives before us and were only in college. I'm just not ready to get married!

Hopefully I will see many of my peers again.

SMARTBOARD TECH

The SMARTboard Technology seems to growing among colleges, highschools and later elementary schools.Hey ,who knows what they might need it for. The smartboard is the newest, most fast growing technology offered to many school classroom across the country that helps increase interactivity,collaboration,and multimedia capabilities. Even Professors are now able to share a certain interest with software,web resources,documents during class.This board can even play notes,record notes,pause them and even replay them, plus many more. Who would have ever thought in 21st century we would have cell phones with camara installed and many complex systems,advanced cars that will tell exactly where to go with an intel camara so parents will know who's in the car and where are they going without them even siiting inside, and the great Smartboard ,plus many more high-tech technologies.Will there ever be a down fall or setback to this manmade tool or will our need to keep inventing eventually bring us to a whole new world?!
